Frequently Asked Questions

What is your refund policy?

Any time before your sample has been processed, you may request a refund. All money paid will be refunded except $49.

Within 60 days after your sample has been processed, you may request a refund. All money paid will be refunded except $159.

What if I want to dispose of my sample?

Contact us. We will send you a “Disposal Authorization Form”. Complete it and send it back to CryoChoice. We will promptly dispose of your specimens and send you written confirmation.

How soon will my kit arrive?

When placing your order, you may select next business day, two business days or regular ground service (ground usually takes 5 business days).

How many sperm cells do I need to store?

40 million cells is an average count we typically store. If your store less, be aware that physician-assisted insemination procedures can greatly reduce the amount of sperm cells needed for a successful pregnancy. So a lower than average total count is not an immediate concern. If there are any problems or issues about your specimen, we will contact you and tell you. In the unlikely event your sample is not suitable for storage; we will tell you and encourage you to request a refund.

Should I enroll for multiple kits?

Many clients enroll for 2 or 3 kits. Having multiple donations processed will increase your total storage volume. This will provide extra assurance that enough sperm is available if multiple pregnancy attempts are required. It is also advantageous to send in multiple donations if you wish to have two or more pregnancies over a period of several years. Discounts for multiple kits are available. The total cost for two kits is $899 or six monthly payments of $149 each. The total cost for three kits is $1,099 or six monthly payments of $183. Please contact a CryoChoice representative to learn more.

Is there a minimum or maximum age for storing?

No, as long as there is a valid concern and the individual is fertile, storage is an option.

How long can my semen be stored?

Cryogenic samples that have been preserved for decades have been thawed and successfully used. Your samples should be available for an indefinite time period.

Can anyone else access my samples?

No one but you or the legal guardian of the samples may have access to them.

How stable will my sample be during transportation?

Our unique preservation media and thermal stabilizers help sustain the sperm cells during the trip to the lab. This reduces the effects of temperature extremes and travel time.
