How soon will my kit arrive?
Your kit will be shipped Priority Overnight.
How much sperm should I store?
175-250 million sperm is an average count we typically store. A lower than average total count is not an immediate concern. If there are any problems or issues about your specimen, we will contact you and tell you. In the unlikely event your sample is not suitable for storage; we will tell you and encourage you to dispose of the sample.
Should I enroll for multiple kits?
Many clients enroll for 2 or 3 kits. Having multiple donations processed will increase your total storage volume. This will provide extra assurance that enough sperm is available if multiple pregnancy attempts are required. It is also advantageous to send in multiple donations if you wish to have two or more pregnancies over a period of several years. Discounts for multiple kits are available. The total cost for two kits is $899 or six monthly payments of $149 each. The total cost for three kits is $1,099 or six monthly payments of $183. Please contact a CryoChoice representative to learn more.
Is there a minimum or maximum age for storing?
Our kits are appropriate for age 14 and older. As long as there is a valid concern and the individual is fertile, storage is an option.
How long can my semen be stored?
Cryogenic samples that have been preserved for decades have been thawed and successfully used. Your samples should be available for an indefinite time period.
Can anyone else access my samples?
No one but you or the legal guardian of the samples may have access to them.
How stable will my sample be during transportation?
Our unique preservation media and thermal stabilizers help sustain the sperm cells during the trip to the lab. This reduces the effects of temperature extremes and travel time.
How do I collect and prepare my sample for processing?

How does cancer affect fertility?
Cancer alone usually does not cause infertility. Particularly testicular cancer and Hodgkin’s disease can cause a man to have a low sperm count even before treatment starts.
How do cancer treatments affect fertility?
Many cancer treatments can cause infertility. Chemotherapy, radiation and surgery can affect your reproductive system and result in infertility. Age, the type/amount of drugs, the location/dose of radiation, the extent and location of surgery, any preexisting fertility issues, and more can influence your risk.
