Our Four Step Process: Enrollment Collection and Transportation Processing Storage & Retrieval

Collection & Transportation: Your kit will arrive via FedEx. It will contain complete instructions about how to complete and ship your donation back to the lab. It will include a specimen cup and a container of non-hazardous preservative. Upon receipt, you will store the preservative in the refrigerator until you are ready to use it. It is important to refrain from ejaculating for at least three days prior to (but not more than ten days prior to) producing your sample. Donating within this time frame allows your body to produce the largest volume of ejaculate possible. You must produce your specimen Monday-Thursday only. It is best to do this late in the afternoon, 3pm-4pm. These particular days and time frame will optimize your final sperm count and motility. After you ejaculate into the specimen cup, you will add the preservative to it and gently swirl the mixture. You will then complete the enclosed I.D. label, adhere it to the specimen cup and place it into the CryoChoice box for shipment back to our lab. To ensure privacy, the box slips into an un-marked FedEx envelope. You will then call FedEx to request a pickup or you may drop the package off at any FedEx drop box, Kinko’s or other FedEx location. Finally, you will get a status call from us within 72 hours of receiving your sample.
